About Us

     Marc Gross Landscaping is a family run business, owned by the husband and wife team of Marc and Elizabeth Gross. Both owners are alumni of The Ohio State University with degrees in Horticulture. Marc's specialty is Agronomy (turf care) and Elizabeth's is in Wildlife Gardening.

    Before starting their own business, Marc worked for 10 years in the Golf Course Industry. He has managed golf and grounds care at The Westin's 5 Star Resort, The Diplomat (www.diplomatresort.com/golf), and was also a Certified Golf Course Superintendent for 3 PGA Tour Doral Ryder Open Golfing Tournaments (www.doralresort.com/Golf/OriginalMoments.asp). Elizabeth's previous career includes working at Akron's Stan Hywet Hall on the grounds and in the greenhouse (www.stanhywet.org), as a floral designer, and as the Nursery and Garden Center Manager for a Botanical Garden and Wildlife Sanctuary (www.flamingogardens.org).

     In 2005 they decided to combine their education and experience and open their own landscaping business. At first it was called BUCKEYES Lawn & Snow. They had just returned to Ohio, with a brand new baby, and were trying to get their foot in the door locally. One year later they were featured on the front page of The Akron Beacon Journal. After that, clients learned more of their horticultural background. More and more people called for a wider variety of landscaping services. They expanded their business, and name, to Beautiful Gardens by BUCKEYES. They were hoping to show that they now offered more than just "lawn and snow" service, and still keep the emphasis on the fact that they are both also 'Buckeyes'. Their business continued to grow. In 2010, due to confusion with other buckeye named companies, they decided to change their name to Marc Gross Landscaping. They didn't want to drop the reference to their alma mater but felt it was necessary to ensure clients knew exactly who they're working with. As Marc is most often onsite, that is what they wanted to emphasize.

     Throughout the years and name changes, they have consistently offered clients 'Dependable Service at a Good Price' and their level of customer service has always remained high.
